I was born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1942 and met my husband, Brian, in 1965, the same year we married and moved to Cwmbran, where we settled and raised our four children. I have been writing poetry since my teenage years, inspired by my love for The Golden Treasury of Poems and its revered poets. Over the years, I have entered many poetry competitions, with several of my works published and awarded small prizes. One memorable occasion was being invited to read my poem The Poppy Fields at Flanders for a D-Day event, and another, Standing in the Shadows, impressed the judges so much that I was invited to attend poetry workshops in New York. To date, I have written eight books five poetry collections, two storybooks, and my most recent venture, a children’s storybook which I began writing after the loss of my husband.
